We will stay at Hotel Lagunita, a charming beachfront eco-resort on the beautiful, tropical Pacific coast of Yelapa, Mexico–a small village away from the rush of everyday life.
Retreat Theme:
Drawing primarily from the powerful pairing of ChiRunning, ChiWalking, and Yoga, this week will teach you how to live and move from your core. We will
teach you how to be more aligned, flexible, relaxed, and aware, whether you are a runner, walker, dancer or
yoga practitioner. We will also use techniques from Nia, a powerful movement practice that draws from dance
arts, martial arts, and healing arts. And we'll have lots of fun in the process!

Bryan will be guiding you through many exercises designed to leave you with a clear sense of what the ChiRunning/ChiWalking techniques feel like in your body. We will not be doing lots of running (contrary to what you might imagine), so no matter what condition you're in, have no fear. We will spend the week alternating between demonstrations, fun exercises and techniques, learning to create and access “dynamic ease” in your own body. The retreat will be relaxed, full and inspiring. Learn how to finish your runs and walks with a smile, instead of pain. Learn how to move with grace and agility.

About the Yoga
We will explore different styles of yoga, including Iyengar and Power yoga,
and investigate how awareness, posture, alignment, balance, can bring about greater awareness, tranquility, and overall energy. We will learn how yoga can bring balance back into our bodies and lives. Whether you currently practice yoga or are new to yoga, we will focus on the idea that having a yoga practice is an integral part of a well rounded program of self care. Yoga sessions are suitable for yoga practitioners of all levels.

Teachers
Bryan Hantman will co-teach the week with Alison Weeks,
who is a licensed/certified Nia instructor with more than 25 years of somatic experience in yoga, dance, Pilates, and fitness. She co-leads Nia retreats annually to Mexico and Costa Rica, with Yelapa being her favorite spot off-the beaten path. Alison has a deep love of dance and movement as a transformational life practice. Presence and vitality are the gifts to be gained. Nia is a powerful tool.
